JOB SUMMARY
GENERAL MANAGER
The General Manager is an accomplished hospitality professional with the vision and leadership skills necessary to inspire and motivate their team to deliver exceptional guest service.
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring financial performance, compliance with all Brand and State and Local standards, maintaining a work environment where associates thrive and creating a customer experience that exceed expectations.
Job Requirements
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a full-service hotel general manager.
A 4-year college degree and at least 5-6 years of related experience is required.
Must have strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop, present and execute an annual budget and forecasts for 30/60/90 days.
Must be able to handle guest issues/complaints efficiently and effectively, through direct face to face contact, telephone, and written communication.
Must have solid understanding of sales and marketing and work closely with the sales and revenue management team, to formulate plans and strategies that maximize revenues.
Meets with sales clients, joins team on outside sales calls, participates in Pre- and Post-Con meetings.
Must have the experience and ability to work directly with both front and back of house food and beverage teams, ensuring menus are relevant to the hotel guest needs, profitable and executed consistently in both preparation and service, in compliance with Brand standards.
Must ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of property through completed room inspections and ensuring the hotel’s Preventive Maintenance program is consistently executed.
Ensures each department conducts daily stand up and quarterly department meetings.
Conducts operations daily stand up and weekly staff meeting.
Ensures Hotel Guest Voice scores exceed brand standards.
Ensures Hotel achieves an acceptable or higher inspection score.
Participates in the interview process for all management level team members, ensuring a second interview is conducted with General Manager before an offer of employment is made.
Delivers performance appraisals for Leadership team
Ensures that all employees receive fair and equitable treatment.
Participates in Manager on Duty program as needed.
Assists Banquet Department at high profile and high-volume events.
Effectively communicates with Ownership and other company business leaders.
