Located on beautiful campuses in suburban Easthampton and Northampton, this part time, hybrid position is a new addition to the senior leadership team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Development Officer will develop Lathrop's philanthropic vision and message wild will implement a culture of a culture of philanthropy among Lathrop residents, their families, our board and staff as well as foundations, vendors and the greater community.
They will work cooperatively with and in support of the Lathrop Board's Philanthropy Committee to further our charitable mission.
The Development Officer will develop and implement fundraising strategies such as an annual appeal, planned giving options, capital campaigns, events and written and website communications.
They will work closely with those we serve to identify potential donors and learn compelling stories, build and steward relationships, and perform record keeping, gift income reporting, solicitations, gift acknowledgements, donor recognition programs, and donor and records analysis.
Other responsibilities identifying corporate gifts from Lathrop vendors and other entities, foundation grants and working with staff to develop proposals, production of printed and electronic communications including a development newsletter, and participating in Kendal philanthropy calls and other opportunities to enable a successful philanthropy effort.
This position requires a self-motivated initiative taker who can relate to everyone is a pleasant and welcoming manner.
A Bachelor's degree with experience in fundraising or a related field is preferred.
Excellent communication skills along with strong reading, writing, oral communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.
Excellent computer skills required with fundraising software experience preferred.
A working knowledge of all laws governing fundraising will be required.
This is a half time position with room for growth for the right person.
