Summary of Position:
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 5 years of Outside Sales experience who will take full ownership of the position for the assigned region (Springfield, MA).
The Outside Salesperson should be able to make independent decisions while negotiating with customers in a manner that supports company goals while mitigating risk.
The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to establish and maintain relationships with customers and within the organization.
Applicants should display a positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interface with local management and sales teams within the organization
Establish and maintain solid customer relationships
Open and maintain new customer master data
Independently price products to maximize gross profit as defined by customer, product, and availability
Develop relationships with customers on a daily basis to gain repeat business
Manage special inventory of contract customers.
Call on current and new accounts
Cold-calling
Ability to grow territory
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree desired, comparable experience will be considered
5+ years in Outside Sales preferred
Skills and Abilities Required:
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills required
Ability to work in a fast- paced environment
Ability to multitask
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
Travel - up to 100%
